Choirs
A Cappella is the art of singing without any musical accompanient. The blending of voices in harmony often take the part of various musical instruments, whilst adding an unusual warmth and dynamic found in no other singing form. The roots of this wonderful style is found in tradtional and world music.
New World Rhythm is an amalgamation of three former local Sunshine Coast choirs (Noosound Voices, World Voices & Rhythmic Voices). They meet each Wednesday at Maroochydore. The choir sings a variety of music styles from world music and the rhythmic sounds of

Mouth Orchestra is the cream of vocal students from Queensland University of Technology (QUT), Brisbane. As one singer in the group improvises a theme, the others harmonize, create countermelodies, add rhythms then solo over the top. Besides these improvised grooves they are prone to dramatic Body percussion pieces plus a selection of amazing world music, and some original works by Brian Martin (Musical Director). For more info: view QUT website Since Ancestral Tones beginnings in 1998, Brian was choirmaster extraordinaire to this wonderful group of men. This choir started as a means to assist men wanting to find their voice whilst singing in a supportive and confidence building environment. The core group has grown to 25 men. With an emphasis on singing from the heart to experience the beauty and power of song. Brian hands this choir over to Simon Chate in 2004 for the next leg of their journey : Contact Steve –07 5590 5072Soul Vibrations (formerly Suffusion) is a dynamic choir, full of flare and joy, based in Murwillumbah & is now into it's second year. Spirits in Voice is a mixed choir which began in Coolangatta in 1999. Brian has been with them since their beginnings, encouraging and teaching them to become a wonderful experience of creative expression.
