Brian’s musical expertise ranges from accomplished vocalist, pianist, musical arranger and composer to conductor and teacher and trainer of teachers. He has spent much of his musical career not only performing but teaching various groups as well as lecturing at universities. He continues to tour nationally and internationally, as a musician and a facilitator.

Brian has a Bachelor of Arts (Contemporary Music) majoring in voice and he has also been trained as a Neuro-Linguistic Programming (N.L.P.) Practitioner and Master Levels.  He also has a background in Energetic Healing as well as Art and Massage.

His solo music, particularly from his upcoming debut release “listen”, is something you would easily hear on radio being contemporary in Style with pop, blues, jazz, classical, and smatterings of African and Celtic influences rhythmically and melodically.  His keyboard playing, a feature on its own, shows remarkable speed and sensitivity and one of the main features of Brian’s solo music is the flexibility, clarity and warmth of his voice.  What he does with the loop pedal is just amazing, adding vocal harmonies and percussive rhythms, with Bobby McFerrin-like flexibility and polish.

As a teacher, Brian was teaching harmony from a very young age, starting from the age of 12 when he was asked to teach the harmonies for the vocal acts in local school Eisteddfods.  At the age of 17, he joined a community choir in Bellingen NSW Australia and very soon became one of their conductors.  That love of harmony singing was re-enforced by Isabel Atcheson during his time at Lismore assisting and then leading “Isabella A Cappella” for a short time.

His ease of passing on information about harmony and vocal technique was recognized and people soon started asking him to “run an Adult Community Education Course…..Why don’t you?

Brian became the Head of Vocal Studies at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium of Arts Centre in Lismore and using his love of Rhythm Dances that he had learnt from the Kiribati Islands in the Pacific, he taught body percussion in the Dance Department. Later he moved to Brisbane to Teach Voice Streams of Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Contemporary Music at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) in the Music department.  While there, he was asked to run a vocal ensemble called “Mouth Orchestra”  in which he was able to explore teaching music students how to improvise grooves, solos and harmonies instantly.

He then met Noeline Banova and married her and that took him to the Sunshine Coast where they set up Brian Martin Music and Global Harmony.  Brian now has a driving passion to “support the Arts by supporting the Artists”.  Over the last few years he has been developing World Fusion events where he brings skilled singers together with High quality musicians of different World Cultures and thus created a metaphor of unity understanding and joy.

Brian has now trained a number of facilitators to continue teaching harmonies and spreading community and joy.  “These are very exciting times….”
